Hello, my fellow corpers! If you are serving or planning to serve in Anambra State, we have some very good news for you. The Governor of the state, Professor Charles Soludo, has personally assured all corps members of their safety and better welfare. This is a big deal.
Governor’s Special Message to All Corps Members
Over the weekend, the big boss of NYSC in Anambra (Video: How Anambra NYSC Corper Jennifer Was Assaulted Full Story and Way Forward) State, Mrs. Pauline Ojisua, visited the Governor at his office in Awka. She went there to talk about the important needs of corpers in the state. And Governor Soludo (Governor Soludo: NYSC Thought Me How to Eat Amala, Ewedu Ikokore) gave a very good response.
He said his government will work hand-in-hand with the NYSC to make sure every corps member is safe, productive, and well taken care of. This means he is directly talking about your welfare and security.
Gov Soludo Still Remembers His Own Youth Service Year
This is the interesting part! The Governor is a former corper just like you and me. He served in Oyo State a long time ago, between 1984 and 1985.
He shared his own service story. He said NYSC helped him to conquer culture shock. It was during his service year in Ife that he first ate Nigerian foods like amala, ewedu, and ikokore. This experience changed his life and made him understand Nigeria better.
Because he has worn those same khaki trousers and white tops, he understands your journey. He knows the challenges you face, and he is promising to make things better for you in Anambra.
What Does This Mean For You?
So, what does Governor Soludo’s promise mean for a corps member serving in Anambra? It means good things!
Better Living Conditions
The state government is now paying more attention to the places where corpers live and work. They promise to improve your welfare package.
Improved Security
The Governor has assured everyone of their safety. You do not need to be afraid of any assault. You can focus on your primary assignment and your community development service (CDS).
A Government That Values You
Governor Soludo called corps members a vital part of the state’s development. This means they see you as important people who can help build Anambra State. Your work is valued!
